![]() ![]() Of course you don't need to do this, but I think if you are new to the game you will probably have a better time getting eased into the DLC rather than having the blood mechanics thrown at you right away. Once you get the hang of the game and have some town upgrades, you can enable the DLC later. It will add mosquito invasions and blood mechanics, which will be annoying to deal with if you are new to the game and don't have a leveled town. Without a single retreat from the mission (with the exception of missions in the courtyard, i must say). If you have the Court DLC, I suggest keeping it turned off initially. The darkest dungeon is finished without a single death, with absolutely all the bosses of the main game and the DLC. The stress bar is actually two bars: One goes from 0-100. This can be anything from reading a disturbing passage in a book to simply walking from room to room. Once you get everything upgraded, it is pretty easy to throw together groups of heroes to finish the game. While adventuring, your characters will face numerous situations that will increase their stress levels. The game tries to encourage you to level up multiple groups of heroes, so you won't be able to just make one or two groups and finish the game. The game is quite grindy, though more for leveling up your town rather than heroes. If you lose heroes, you will just need to level up some more and try again. ![]() On the default difficulty, no, you cannot really "lose" the game. ![]()
